Amelia Moran Ceja is the President and Owner of Ceja Vineyards, a family-owned winery in Napa, California.
As the first Latina Woman Vintner in California, Amelia had humble beginnings, picking grapes in the fields as a child and dreaming of one day owning her own vineyard. It was in the fields where she met her husband, Pedro Ceja, who fondly remembers Amelia eating more than she harvested.
In 1999, Amelia, Pedro and his brother, Armando Ceja, founded Ceja Vineyards, which has flourished becoming a pioneer in pairing Latin cuisine with wine. Today, Ceja Vineyards owns 113 acres in Carneros region of Napa, produces about 10,000 cases of wine each year, and has a Tasting room in downtown Napa.
Amelia has broken down barriers the Latino way and in this webisode of INSPIRA, we learn how she blends her Mexican and American cultures to bring a different taste to Napa.
